Frederik Visby was known as a "fine watercolor painter".
He created beautiful island scenes of his travels during the years 1865 to 1869.

During the early twentieth century, St. Thomas was considered the "Gibraltar of the West Indies".
The harbor was one of the busiest in the region with visiting steamers, naval cruisers and coaling ships.
Today, its appreciated for its scenic beauty encompassing beautiful beaches, excellent snorkeling, diving and world-class fishing.
Popular scenic spots include Bluebeard's Castle, Blackbeard’s Castle, Magens Bay, Fort Christian, and the St. Thomas Synagogue among many others.
