This notebook was created from a beautiful painting of St. Thomas by Riis Carstensen.

Fort Christian, in the foreground, is the oldest standing building on the island of St. Thomas and has weathered every hurricane since 1672! It has now been designated a US National Historic Landmark.

🎨 ANDREAS RIIS CARSTENSEN 🎨

Carstensen was an extremely talented marine painter from Denmark who visited the islands around 1903.

He gave a fascinating lecture at the Apollo theatre entertaining the crowds with his paintings and stories of his visit to the Nile River.

He spoke for two hours about Egyptian history including their customs, religions, and hieroglyphics. "One could almost follow him in his journey up the Nile."

He was an entertaining and engaging artist and it's an honor to feature his painting on the cover of this notebook.

It's perfect for someone who loves the island's history!
