Did you know that the Lutheran Church (pictured above) is one of the oldest Lutheran churches in the entire Western hemisphere?
It was first established in 1666!
Over the years, it suffered terribly from natural disasters including a fire in 1826 and a hurricane in 1870.
When it was rebuilt after the hurricane, the tower in the front was added at that time.
This year, the congregation will celebrate its 225th anniversary since its dedication (which was in 1793).
