🌹 FRANCELIA GREAUX 🌹

On the cover is a photograph of Francelia Greaux, a talented, young girl chosen to attend the American Fair in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1931.

It was the opportunity of a lifetime for her and another young lady to represent the US Virgin Islands.

The governor chose her for her talents in the handicraft industry.

She was a "typical French girl of twenty with blue-black hair, light blue eyes, and piquant features."

Francelia learned basketry from her mother, Madam Amelia Greaux at a very young age.

She attended the Catholic school and went on to train as a nurse at the Municipal hospital with graduation set for 1932.

Many felt she was one of the best student nurses and was perfect to represent the French people of the West Indies.
